the Stagcircle individuals are free to develop and enjoy their own
perceptions, it is also encouraging and helpful when the
individual's thoughts are catalogued as a book of record. It is
because of this reason that I have taken the time to throw a few
ideas out into the universe, not to dictate or state as law, but
simply to keep a record that I feel at ease sharing with others. How I arrived at the Stag Circle was in itself a spiritual experience for me and my journey within has never let me down... Contrary to many ideas or beliefs about the circle, it's not all about jumping around with antlers on one's head, banging drums and shouting the verse of creation. There is much more involved, and it would take books to cover the whole journey, but there are a few things I can share in a hope to satisfy curiosity, or even encourage people to take a closer look to discover more for themselves... Ceremonies Ceremonies of the Stag Circle are housed within the Dolmen Grove and there are two main festivals which are kept each year - these are known as Samhain (31 Oct) & Beltane (30 April -1st May). The Winter Solstice is also recognized however more awaited and observed than celebrated. What happens on the celebrations? The circle will meet and a simple recognition of the time of year will be said, and if it is Samhain the celebration would be to acknowledge the time when dimensions kiss. Those individuals who stand within the circle of the Stag have no need to follow set words or borrowed ideas from other areas of spirituality, if they choose to do so then its their choice, but in common case the individual is already deep within their own discovery. RELIGION Is the Stag Circle religious? Yes it is - but perhaps not in the way people will imagine it to be. Its foundation has to go back to a time when the most important truths were being realized and were becoming the driving force behind human evolution. With spiritual realisation of forces that were superior or even inferior to the human race a quest was set to discover, investigate and develop an understanding with these forces. Over the years, as the race progressed, so many elaborate systems and colourful ceremonies were developed, that in my mind were a fine example of imagination but also how in ways very misleading. Do we really need the elaborate costumes in order to be spiritual? If one believes in a higher consciousness why in the name of the earth should such Intelligence lead us down some yellow brick road before allowing us into the so called sacred mysteries of their existence and the great MEANING OF LIFE? Some wish that to be the case - however, common sense states otherwise. Regarding The Occult By 'Occultism' these days, people are generally referring to Cabbalistic or even Egyptian systems. Why? These systems are only around 4,000 years in existence, constantly mutating as they have been passed down through the years. They are the two systems that have become known as the beginning and end of all Occultism. I disagree with them and would advise that although there is some truth in all systems they should be taken as what they are, religious dogmatic structures that are very new as regards the existence of mankind. Before the arrival of such systems and the seating of Kings and Armies, man had existed for thousands of years and had got along fine. It would be a wise move to see occultism as a quest for spiritual knowledge that leads the individual to an understanding of their own uniqueness and their own capability in this given life time, rather than the distasteful nightmare of ideas that have become president to the word. Coming back to the question is the Stag Circle religious. The answer is 'yes', and its religion was as natural to human beings in those pre-dogmatic days as switching on the TV is today. OK! So, what is the foundation that constitutes it as a religion? The existence of other life forms known as spirits, or beings of intelligence whether superior or less superior to our own. A respect for other life-form on the planet we live and a respect for the planet itself. It is of no surprise that so many people are attempting to reconnect with the planet and its nature, we have been starved of this connection over the decades and now as evil seeks to destroy its very physical being we are hopefully waking to the old religion and seeking to embrace nature in whichever way we can. Forming a relationship with earth bound spirits and seeking divine guidance in our path, learning to manipulate the natural energys so that we are able to manifest within our consciousness a power of thought that will interact with the greater consciousness of this beautiful planet. This is not a new age dream, this is an ancient way of life, an ancient philosophy that was once understood as being natural to those distant people. Yes, we have a religion and we have a quest, a goal, and there is a need to act. To walk with nature is great but not enough - not if we wish to save this earth from the evil that devours it and set a future for our children's children... Can one person tell another truth on this subject of great importance? No, however it can be encouraged. Peace.
